Mini-Season Lobster Tournaments

Can you find really big Florida Spiny Lobsters? No, I don't mean at the Red Lobster, I mean in the waters surrounding the Florida Keys. If you know where the big ones are hiding and you can bring one in, during the 2 day Sport Lobster season July 28 and 29, you just might win a cash prize. Unfortunately this may be an off year for tournaments. I haven't been able to find much information about past tournaments but will give you some contact info.

2011 Miami Spiny Lobster Tournament

Make plans now to join DELI LANE & SUNSET TAVERNS 2nd annual “SPINY LOBSTER TOURNAMENT”. This July 27th & 28th 2011. Be part of the action when scores of boaters vie for catching & winning the largest lobster prize during south Florida’s famed MINI-LOBSTER-SEASON. Tilden's Scuba Center Lobster Rodeo

each year Tilden's Scuba Center has a fun contest, or as the dive cowhands like to call it, the Lobster Rodeo. The contest is held during the two days of the Keys' mini lobster season, which are the last Wednesday and Thursday in July. The heaviest live lobster in each category wins a fabulous prize. Marathon Lobster/Spearfish Challenge

Just a plain 'ole fun day for opening day of mini lobster season. Sponsored by Big Time Bait & Tackle, the largest lobster wins $500 and largest grouper speared wins $500.
